Are you ready for an exhilarating challenge that combines environmental action with a thrilling race across the vibrant city of Mississauga? The Amazing Green Race - 2026 is calling all youth aged 13 to 24 to embark on an unforgettable outdoor adventure! Organized by the dedicated teams at Peel Environmental Youth Alliance, Ecosource, and the City of Mississauga, this event promises a day of fun, learning, and friendly competition, all while championing sustainable urban exploration.
What to Expect: A Race with a Purpose
The route is meticulously set, the environmental challenges are ready, and the spirit of adventure awaits! On Wednesday, July 29th, from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM, teams of 3-5 participants will navigate through three distinct neighborhoods in Mississauga. This isn't just about speed; it's about wit, creativity, compassion, and a commitment to green mobility. Participants will utilize customized maps to travel between checkpoints, embracing active transportation methods like walking, rollerblading, skateboarding, scootering, cycling, or public transit. Private cars are strictly off-limits, emphasizing the event's eco-friendly ethos.
At each strategically placed checkpoint, teams will be presented with intriguing clues and essential tools to complete climate-focused activities. Every successful task earns a coveted stamp for your team's eco-passport, propelling you closer to victory. The race culminates in a final, high-stakes challenge at the finish line, where the ultimate winners will be decided. It’s a dynamic blend of problem-solving, physical activity, and environmental awareness, designed to engage and inspire the next generation of eco-champions.

Beyond the thrill of the race, the day wraps up with a lively closing ceremony filled with excitement and recognition. This isn't just a race for the fastest; prizes will be awarded for creativity, cleverness, and compassionate teamwork, ensuring everyone has a chance to shine. Essential Logistics
Start Location: The adventure kicks off at the Hazel McCallion Central Library, located at 301 Burnhamthorpe Rd. West, Noel Ryan Auditorium, Mississauga, ON L5B 3Y3. Be sure to arrive ready to go by 9:30 AM!
End Location: The race concludes at Forest Glen Park, 3545 Fieldgate Dr., Mississauga. This will be the site of our celebratory closing ceremonies.
How to Register Your Team
Gather your friends and form your dream team! Here’s how to secure your spot in The Amazing Green Race - 2026:
- Form a Team: Create a team of 3-5 people, all aged between 13 and 24.
- Choose Your Leaders: Designate a Team Captain and brainstorm a creative Team Name.
- Plan Your Transit: Decide whether your team will primarily use public transportation or bike/roll between checkpoints.
- Individual Registration: Each team member must complete their own registration through Eventbrite. The deadline to register is July 24, 2026, so don't delay!
- Waiver Signing: Once all team members have registered, the race organizers will email an Event Waiver. Participants under 18 years old will require a parent or guardian to sign their waiver.
